Dr. Cook’s Biography

Dr. Cook is a native of southeast Michigan.  He grew up in Livonia and attended the University of Michigan for his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees. After dental school, he completed a two year certificate of postgraduate training through the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at the University of Michigan.
After his chief resident year, Dr. Cook served as a full time Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry for one year, before transitioning to private practice on the west side of Ann Arbor.  Presently, as an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at the University, he still enjoys teaching and mentoring future dentists.
Dr. Cook has been awarded as a Top Dentist by HOUR Detroit magazine.  He has served on the University of Michigan School of Dentistry Alumni Society Board of Governors.  He has also earned his Fellowship in the American and International Colleges of Dentistry, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, as well as his Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Cook served for a decade on the Committee for Continuing Education for the Michigan Dental Association.  He has a passion for continuing education and truly loves learning and refining his knowledge to offer his patients the very best conservative restorative dentistry.  He has trained extensively at the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida, completing the Essentials Curriculum and going on to complete additional training in splint therapy, complex restorative dentistry, occlusion, TMJ/TMD, orofacial pain, and equilibration of the bite.

Dr. Cook’s understanding of the interaction between the teeth, muscles of mastication, and the temporomandibular joints allows him to provide dentistry that is comfortable, functions well, and maximizes longevity of the final restoration.  Dr. Cook is also a member of the Francis B. Vedder Society of Crown and Bridge Prosthodontics, the American Equilibration Society, the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and the Washtenaw District Dental Society.
